When we're flying the clouds, we have to navigate without visual references. Each time you reach a new "fix" or location, you go through "The Five Ts:"
Time, Turn, Twist, Throttle, Talk.
It's a great example about how pilot thinking is all about prioritizing as a way to cultivate focus effectively.
Let's focus on the #1 item — TIME — and how a mastery of time can supercharge your focus beyond the cockpit.
For big-picture time management, I'm all about aggressive calendaring, and that has made a MASSIVE difference on my overall productivity & focus.
But for short-term time management, I use a simple desk timer. This is a game changer for letting yourself go deep into a given task, while keeping a quick reference on hand for when you'll need to shift gears. And there's something about having timer as a physical gadget that makes it more effective.
Remember: Multitasking is a myth, so we need to find ways to focus on one thing at a time, in order to be focused & productive.
